THE HISTORY BEHIND US
The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Shipbuilders, Blacksmiths, Forgers ad Helpers was chartered on September 1, 1883, and Boilermakers Lodge 154, Pittsburgh, PA (known as the Smoky City) was officially chartered on November 17, 1894. On June 9, 1896, our International affiliated with the American Federation of Labor (AFL). Now, almost three decades later, the Boilermaker Trade is the most vital and fundamental source of highly skilled and productive manpower in the Union Construction Industry.
